Remembering a Lost Friend

Well I am trying to keep up with the blog more now and I wanted to take some time to remember a friend who was lost 2 years ago Sunday. For those who don't know the whole story behind the name G2C Designs, I will give you a quick rundown...

My friend Gabe, who I had gone to college with and he had helped me get my first job out of school, was battling cancer in the hospital and he had mentioned to me how he always wanted to start his own agency/ business. We had always joked about it in school and work but never really took it too seriously because as I am learning it is a lot of hard work and commitment. He was talking about when he got out of the hospital he was planning on taking some business classes and he had some clients lined up and he was all for it now. By now things had started to get worse and as strong as he was he didn't have a lot of fight left in him... but he had a LOT of fight in him! He arrived home and things started to take a turn for the worse and I never really got to see him too much to talk about the business or even plan on it, this was the same time we were planning a benefit art show for him with the help of Paier College of Art to help with medical expenses and to hopefully keep him fighting and to keep his spirits up. He was unable to keep fighting to plan the business out, name it or even make it to the Art Show but the show was a huge success and we know he was looking down at us with a big smile from the huge turnout from the show. Gabe had lost his battle on 7-26-07 a little after 5pm.

So after the Art Show I started to think about the business again, for some reason it just popped into my head, G2C, and of course as Gabe would have it, the G was first. So I went through the whole process of getting the LLC in 2008 and I am slowly but surely trying to build this to be the great business he would only allow! In April of 2008 G2C Designs, LLC was born, the abbreviation of Gabe 2 Chris, and I always look at it as he left it to me to make it successful.

Even though it has now been 2 years since he was lost there isn't a day I do not think about him and what we would be doing now (I am sure with his smooth talking we would probably be  a top agency by now, but I have to do my best on my own).

There will probably never be a time that you will not see me with my "Everlasting Strength" bracelet on, its not a livestrong bracelet but is similar... This bracelet has a modified version of a logo Gabe was working on for his own website and the phrase Everlasting Strength on it to remember how strong he was during his battle, his life and just how he was as a person... those who knew him, know what I am talking about!

So if you are reading this blog for the first time you now have a little inside view of what is behind G2C Designs, for those of you who know the story or knew Gabe, please take this time and just remember him and how great he truly was.

R.I.P Gabe, we will always remember you!
